Smoked almonds
Smoked almonds have a unique, savory and full taste due to the addition of smoked herbs. They are delicious as a nourishing inbetween snack, or as a post-workout treat! Like roasted almonds, smoked almonds are briefly roasted in the oven. Due to their relatively low content of saturated fatty acids and sugar, they are the perfect substitutes for chips or coated nuts. Just as savory and spicy, but much healthier!
Almonds are naturally healthy and rich in magnesium, vitamin E, calcium and iron. In addition, they contain a lot of fiber, healthy saturated fats, and are very popular among vegans, vegetarians and athletes because of their high vegetable protein content. 100 grams of almonds contain no less than 20 grams of protein, making it a good substitute for meat or dairy products.
You can also make smoked almonds at home from regular, unprocessed almonds. To do this, place them marinated in herbs of your choice on a charcoal barbecue and let them rest for 20 minutes. Allow the almonds to cool completely for the perfect smoked flavour.
Like much of the almonds worldwide, our smoked almonds come from the United States. This nut is grown en masse, especially in California. There are 30 different types of almonds, 10 of which make up about three quarters of the entire production.
