Brazil nuts unroasted & unsalted
Brazil nuts are also called Amazon nuts. They are rich in copper, magnesium, manganese, potassium, calcium, iron, phosphorus and zinc. Phosphorus in particular is highly present in the nut. This nut also contains a lot of fiber, as much as 7.5 grams per 100 grams! This covers about 25% of your daily recommended amount of fiber.
In addition, they are very popular among vegans and athletes because of their high protein content. There are no less than 14 grams of protein in 100 grams, bringing them close to the protein content of meat and dairy. Vegetarians and vegans can also get their daily amount of selenium from two to five Brazil nuts a day. However, more than this daily amount is not recommended.
Delicious as a healthy snack in between, or as a fitness snack after an intense sports session to restore or build your muscles!
